Privacy Policy — No-Spend Nudge

No-Spend Nudge is a browser extension that helps you notice and pause before impulse purchases on shopping websites. This page explains what data the extension handles and, just as importantly, what it doesn't.

Summary

• All data stays on your device. Nothing is sent to us or to any third party.
• There are no accounts, no sign-in, and no servers involved.
• There is no analytics, tracking, or advertising of any kind in this extension.

What data the extension stores

The extension uses Chrome's built-in local storage (chrome.storage.local), which keeps data only on your own device, to remember:

• Which days you've marked as spend-free, used to calculate your streaks.
• Any additional websites you've chosen to add to your tracked list.
• Your preference for whether the checkout pause feature is turned on.
• A record of when the on-page reminder or checkout pause was last shown, so it doesn't show more than once per site per day.

None of this data ever leaves your device. We do not operate a server that receives, stores, or processes any of it.

Website access

The extension requests permission to run on shopping websites (both a built-in list and any sites you choose to add yourself) so it can display an on-page reminder and, if you enable it, a brief pause on checkout pages. The extension does not read the content of your browsing beyond detecting the website's address to decide whether to show a reminder. It does not collect browsing history, page content, purchase details, or any personal information from the sites you visit.

Notifications

The extension may show a system notification when you visit a tracked shopping site, generated entirely on your device from your locally stored streak data. No notification content is generated by or sent to an external server.

No sale or sharing of data

We do not sell, rent, or share any data, because we do not collect any data in the first place. There is nothing to share.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect that. Material changes will also be noted in the extension's Chrome Web Store listing.
